In 2005, Chilkat Indian Village received a Social and Economic Development Strategies Grant from the Administration for Native Americans to provide Chilkat Host training to local residents. The training focused on Tlingit language, Alaska History, Northwest Coast native art history and culture, and cultural customer training. More than 10 tribal members participated in the Chilkat Host training program during the winter months. In June 2006, the Village was ready to begin demonstration tours at the Klukwan Traditional Knowledge Camp.

The tours focus on the history and culture of Klukwan and offer visitors a first hand look at cultural practices centered upon traditional architecture and construction methods, traditional fish processing methods, traditional arts such as wood carving, basketry, beading and Chilkat and Ravenstail Weaving. Klukwan Tribal Tours began the 2007 season as an official business with the State of Alaska with twice daily tours being offered during the week and an occasional group tour during the weekends.
